Oxi-Tech have achieved groundbreaking results in a recent industry trial, demonstrating the superior efficacy of their Pulse Oxidation™ technology in the Food & Beverage sector. Conducted at Devon Drinks Solutions in Dunkeswell, the trial validated Pulse Oxidation™ as a powerful chemical-free solution for Clean-in-Place (CIP) processes.
The trial involved a direct comparison between three different cleaning methods—traditional chemical-based cleaning, water-only rinsing, and Oxi-Tech’s Pulse Oxidation™ process. The study aimed to assess each method’s effectiveness in reducing microbial contamination within Pressure Vessel Tanks (PVTs) used in cider production.
Key Findings:
- Unmatched Cleaning & Disinfection: Pulse Oxidation™ outperformed chemical-based cleaning, achieving up to 95% greater efficacy in disinfecting the entire system.
- Superior Microbial Reduction: Test results showed significantly lower Total Plate Count (TPC) and ATP readings after Pulse Oxidation™ treatment compared to both chemical and water-only methods.
- Sustainable & Chemical-Free: By harnessing low-voltage electricity and water, Pulse Oxidation™ eliminates the need for toxic chemicals, providing a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective CIP alternative.
“This trial further reinforces the power of Pulse Oxidation™ as a revolution in industrial water treatment,” said Luke Rutterford, Project Director at Oxi-Tech. “The results demonstrate not only its superior cleaning performance but also its potential to enhance operational sustainability within the Food & Beverage industry.”
Transforming Industry Standards
The trial also validated Pulse Oxidations efficacy throughout the entire CIP pathway, including tanks, carbonators, and canning equipment. Even after a reduced CIP cycle time, Pulse Oxidation™ maintained high levels of cleaning effectiveness, showcasing its efficiency in large-scale industrial applications.
In conclusion, the Chemicals and Pulse Oxidation were significantly more effective than Water in terms of Cleaning and Disinfection, thereby reducing subsequent residual microbial growth. Pulse Oxidation was more effective at Disinfecting the system than the Chemical treatment. In this small-scale trial, Pulse Oxidation proved to be up to 95% more effective then Chemical treatment at disinfecting the system as a whole. With a growing focus on sustainability and reducing chemical footprints, Pulse Oxidation™ technology is poised to revolutionise sanitation processes across multiple industries.
