Pulse Oxidation (POd) open for FETF applications

All dairy farmers in England can apply for FETF’s 40% grant towards Oxi-Tech’s Pulse Oxidation for Dairy (POd), the cost-effective CIP for both conventional and automated milking systems.

“FETF is available to help all English dairy farmers to radically change their milking system’s cleaning and disinfection routine by going chemical-free,” comments Oxi-Tech CEO, Paul Morris.

“POd is a unique patented system that removes the pre-milking teat cleaner (PreMTD) requirement, replaces traditional CIP wash post milking and eliminates chemical usage in automatic cluster wash systems by energising cold water to create ozone,” he explains. “Pulse oxidation is a clean and highly efficient disinfectant and includes a range of activated oxygen molecules which are globally recognised as powerful microbial biocides.”

ROI | cost savings

  • Robotic systems: typical ROI three years based on two milking robots.
  • Conventional systems: up to 80% savings in both energy and chemical usage.
  • Running costs
  • Approximately two-thirds of traditional CIP cleaning.

“Furthermore, POd has been proven to achieve, within seconds, over 99% reduction in E. coli, Staph aureus, and Strep uberis according to the latest independent microbiological study findings. The system also reduces the unit’s Carbon footprint by eliminating the energy required to heat the cleaning water and eliminating the cleaning chemicals together with the carbon associated in producing, transporting the plastic barrels.”

Applications close mid-day 10 July 2025. Check out https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/farming-equipment-and-technology-fund-2025 and look out for listing FETF84 – Chemical free disinfection system for dairy farms.
